Study Programs Offered:

1.       Asian Studies Programme

Duration: B.Sc: years, M.Sc: years Combined: years

You will be introduced to subjects related to e.g. International Business Economics and Comparative Social Analysis.

You will learn to analyze international economies with focus on East Asia, learn to use practical Japanese or Chinese, and get a fundamental understanding of the social conditions.

The Asian Studies Programme focuses on getting an understanding of East Asian culture and language, as well as economics. You will learn to analyze international economies with focus on East Asia, learn to use practical Japanese or Chinese, and get a fundamental understanding of the individual country's social conditions.

The programme is built up around five main areas:

  • International Business Economics in which you research international and Asian economies
  • Chinese/Japanese where you learn to read, write, speak and comprehend Chinese or Japanese
  • Comparative Social Analysis where you become familiar with the methods of comparative analysis, which is used when, for example, you compare two companies' strategies or communications.
  • Communications where you learn about corporate communications, both internal and external.
  • Interdisciplinary Research Methods where you learn about social research methods, including quantitative methods, for example a survey, and qualitative methods, such as an inquiry into corporate culture

2.       Business Administration and Service Management

Students will be introduced to subjects such as strategy, economics, marketing, and specific subjects that focus on the service branch.

Students are put to analyze and address managerial and economic projects within the areas of Transportation, leisure, sport, Cultural institutions, and Tourism.

After the programme, students will be readymade to work in the service industry. The programme is based on business economics, with a focus on: leisure, passenger transportation, cultural institutions, and tourism.

Students will study business administration and get a deeper idea of the different needs enterprises and organizations have in connection with their work and development. Students get a broad humanistic and social scientific insight into culture, society and corporate life.

Students will become familiar with general business economic as well as traditional economic theory, but also theories specifically aimed at service industry. Students will learn to analyze and address economic and managerial projects within the four main areas:

 

  • Transportation
  • Sport and leisure
  • Cultural Institutions such as museums and theatres
  • Tourism

Core subjects in the programme include specific subjects that focus on the service branch, economics, and marketing.
