Flinders International Post graduate Research Scholarships (FIPRS)
Brief Description
Flinders International Post Graduate Research Scholarships are meritorious awards presented to qualified applicants who pursue a two year full-time research degree at Flinders University.
The scholarship covers tuition fees plus the recipients will be paid with a generous living allowance of $25,395 per annum. Also the candidates will get an establishment allowance of up to $1,485 to assist with relocation costs and airfares, provided receipts can be produced by the student.
International students should meet academic entry requirements including the English proficiency levels set by Flinders International Post graduate Research Scholarships. The scholarships are only open for those who are doing a research higher degree in Australia for the first time. Application deadline is 15 August 2014.
University of Newcastle Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UNIPRS)
The University of Newcastle provides numerous Postgraduate research scholarships to support international candidates at the University of Newcastle. Students from all over the world, except from Newzealand are eligible for these scholarships. The scholarship covers tuition fees, university living allowance, and Overseas Students Health Cover.
Application deadline is 31st August 2014. By this date, students should also meet the English proficiency requirements.
Points are given for referred research related conference publications, book chapters, journal articles, research and research related exhibitions and patents. Also a coursework masters with 20% thesis component or for a research masters will be considered.
Candidates should have research work experience and a should possess a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5.25 out of 7 in the last two calendar years of undergraduate degree.
University of Western Australia International Postgraduate Research Scholarships
University of Western Australia is offering Postgraduate Research Scholarships for suitably qualified international students to attract them and to support Australia’s research effort.
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) cover International Tuition Fees for up to four years, International Student Health Cover, an annual living allowance, and UWA Top-Up Scholarship (the total combined value for 2014 is $28,892 per annum).
Aspirants should be done with their four year undergraduate degree at first-class honors level or equivalent and must be intended to enroll as a full-time candidate for a Masters’ degree by research or a PhD degree.
After the scholarship round, the winners should be able to start their course in the next semester.
Applications will open on 1 July 2014 and application deadline is 29 August 2014.
Melbourne International Research Scholarships
The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) is awarded to international students wishing to undertake graduate research degree studies at the University of Melbourne. Every year about 150 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarships include living allowance, relocation grant, thesis allowance, and paid sick, maternity and paternity leave. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is also included.
Australian and Newzealand citizens are not allowed to apply for this scholarship. Applicants should have successfully completed their tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a four-year honors degree at an Australian University with a minimum result of first class honors.
Also candidates should have already applied for admission to undertake a master or doctorate by research degree or be currently enrolled in a research degree at the University of Melbourne. Application deadline for the fall and summer intakes is 31st October and 31st May 2014 respectively.
Adelaide Scholarships International
The University of Adelaide offers Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI) to attract high quality overseas post graduate students to support its research effort.
The scholarship covers tuition fees and health insurance (if award holder holds a subclass 574 visa). Along with these, successful applicants will get an annual living allowance ($25,392 in 2014). The scholarship is for a period of 24 months for a Masters degree and three years for a Doctoral research degree.
Applicants should be completed with an Australian First class Honors degree or the equivalent and should be enrolled at the University of Adelaide as “international students” and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrollment in the University.
However, the scholarships are highly competitive.
University of Sydney International Scholarships (USdlS)
The University of Sydney offers scholarships to International students who are undertaking a Postgraduate Research Degree or Masters’ by Research program at the University of Sydney.
The University of Sydney International Research Scholarships (USdlS) program is designed to lure high quality International post graduate students to support its research effort.
The scholarships cover tuition fees and living allowances for up to three years. For PhD students, there is a possibility of one semester’s extension.
To become eligible for these scholarships, aspirants should get the admission under a Postgraduate Research or Masters by Research Program at the University of Sydney.
Applications will be accepted from 31st July and 15th December.
Macquarie Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships
North Ryde Campus of Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia awards Macquarie Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships to meritorious scholars from every nook of the world except Australia and Newzealand. The scholarships are awarded for most courses except Doctor of Physiotherapy, Master of Surgery, Master of Advanced Surgery, Master of Applied Finance, Master of Management, and Master of Business Administration. The scholarship covers International tuition fees for study in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the University’s North Ryde campus.
Along with having a foreign citizenship (except from Newzealand), candidates should possess a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.7 (out of 4.0) for a Masters and a minimum of 92 (out of 100) for Undergraduate applications.
Also College sons must meet the University’s academic and English language statures.
