York University International Student Program

The University of York offers International Entrance Scholarships, United World College Scholarships, and Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships, for International students who would like to take a full-time undergraduate degree in the fields of Schulich School of Business, Science, Lassonde School of Engineering, Health, Glendon, Fine Arts, Environmental Studies, and Liberal Arts & professional studies at University of York.

  • Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships worth: $60,000 ($15,000 x 4 years).
  • United World College Scholarship $100,000 ($25,000 X 4 years).
  • International Entrance Scholarships: $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years).

The renewal of the scholarship depends upon a high academic standing (7.80 on a 9-point York scale) in each year at York.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students who are in dire financial need will be preferred.
  • Students must submit a formal application to York University either by the OUAC website (Ontario Universities’ Application Center) or through York online application for September entry.
  • International students must hold a Study Permit to study in Canada.
  • Freshmen who are acquiring a full-time undergraduate programme in one of the following: Schulich School of Business, Science, Lassonde School of Engineering, Health, Glendon, Fine Arts, Environmental Studies, and Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.
  • Students should possess an excellent academic record (“An” average or equivalent) and have clinched the leadership qualities through personal achievements or through excellence in the arts, sports, or in other areas or through community service.
  • Students who had graduated from high school more than two years ago are not eligible.
  • Application documentation is a must.

UBC International Leader of Tomorrow Award

The International Leader of Tomorrow Award identifies international undergraduates who have superior academic achievement and great leadership qualities along with active involvement in student affairs and in community service. A remarkable impact in fields of Endeavour such as the external academic competitions, examinations, creative writing, debating, sports, and performing arts is also a must have thing.

The scholarships are for undergraduate degrees offered by United Board of Canada.

Winners receive an award-equivalent financial need as determined by the costs of their tuition, fees, and living costs.

As long as the students continues to demonstrate their financial need and their academic standing is satisfactory while maintaining their Canadian Study Permit, the scholarship can be renewed for up to the completion of degree or up to three additional years of undergraduate study, whichever is less.

Eligibility:

Winners should be nominated by their current school, college, or University. For this, students must:

  • Possess an excellent academic record (at least an “An” average or equivalent standard).
  • Be admissible to the first choice program you are applying to, including meeting UBC’s English Language Admission Standard.

Candidates should be strictly non-Canadians.

Candidates should demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent you from pursuing a UBC degree.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) are founded to keep Canada on the hilltop in the areas of research and higher learning by luring and retaining world-class doctoral students. The scholarships are towards a doctoral degree.

Students who wish to apply for a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) should first identify the Colleges which are having the Vanier CGS scholarship quota and should approach the admission committee by conveying them their desire. Students from all over the world can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship costs $50,000 for one year. The grant will be awarded for three years.

Eligibility Criteria:

Students should be considered by only one Canadian University, which has Vanier CGS Scholarship quota.

Applicants should be pursuing their first combined degree, which is a PhD portion or full-time doctoral at the nominated University.

Up to 20 months of doctoral studies can be accepted as of May 1, 2015.

Candidates should have been achieved a first-class average (please contact the University for the definition of first-class average as it varies from one University to another) in each of the last two years of full-time study or equivalent as determined by your University.

If the student had already received a doctoral-level scholarship or fellowship from SSHRC, NSERC, or from CIHR to undertake or complete a doctoral degree, he/she will be disqualified right away.

Application Deadline: November 5, 2014.

International Student Scholarships at Humber College Canada

Humber offers full and partial renewable tuition scholarships for international undergraduate students who are studying undergraduate programs in any stream except General Arts& Science – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program at the University.

The University offers 3 scholarships every year, out of two offered in September and one offered in January. The scholarship covers Full Tuition or CAD $5,000.

Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters, and statement of interest. Based on the student’s ability to maintain a 75% GPA in each year of his/her program at Humber, scholarships will be renewed.

Application deadlines are 2 June 2014 (September intake) and 13 October 2014 (January intake).

UMGF Scholarships in Canada for International students

University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowships (UMGF) are merit-based that are open to foreign nationals who got registered for a full-time graduation at the UMGF.

The value of these scholarships is $18,000 for Ph.D and $14,000 for Masters’.

These scholarships cover the first 24 months of their Masters’ program and the first 48 months of PhD program.

To become eligible for these scholarships, students should possess a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.75 in their Bachelors or Masters or in Doctoral Degree.

United World Colleges (UWC) international Youth Scholarships

United World Colleges is the only global education Non-governmental Organization that brings in students all over the globe at one place based on their merit irrespective of their race, religion, and most importantly their financial status. These students gather at one of the thirteen UWC schools and colleges to foster international understanding and peace.

The programme makes sure about diversity through selection on merit and potential. Many students who attend UWC get full or partial scholarships. National Committees as a part of their selection process allocate scholarships.

UWC moves with an aim of meeting 100% of their students’ needs. As a part of this, the college raises funds actively.
