The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations fund British Chevening Scholarships, which are UK government’s global scholarship programme. Annually, 1000 scholarships are offered to outstanding international students who are having great leadership qualities to study fulltime postgraduate studies, normally a one year Masters’ study at UK Universities.
The scholarship covers full-time or part time study including tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate and an economy return air fare to the UK.
Scholarships are offered in the fields of Media, Business, Politics, and academia. The Application Deadline is 15 November 2014.
Commonwealth Scholarships
The commonwealth scholarships are awarded to International students from developing commonwealth nations who wants to pursue combined degrees, Doctoral, Masters, and the actual PhDs in the UK. These scholarships are funded by the UK department for International Department (DFID).
Though the selection committee gives priority to the Computer Science, Students from any stream of education can apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship covers examination and tuition fees along with a £917 per month (£1134 per month for those studying at institutions in the London Metropolitan area).
It also covers an initial arrival allowance and an initial clothing grant for students from tropical nations.
In some cases they will provide the expenses of preparing a thesis or dissertation. Expenses for approved travel such as fieldwork within the United Kingdom or Overseas for those who are undertaking doctoral studies are being offered as well, if required.
On three year doctoral awards, Scholars will be paid mid-term fare to their home country. Scholars who are paid with fieldwork fares to their home country shall not be entitled to a mid-term fare home, nor Scholars who have claimed (or intend to claim) spouse or child allowances for more than 12 months during their award.
For married scholars and/or scholars with children, allowance(s) are provided.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships
Gates Cambridge Scholarships are full-cost awards for graduate study and research at University of Cambridge. The Scholarships cover full cost of study including University fees, airfare, and some dependant’s allowance. Annually about 4000 candidates apply for a 100 scholarships. This shows the tough competition the program embarks.
The trust also makes the discretion based on conference attendance, fieldwork allowance, family allowance, same fourth year funding for hardship funding.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who are applying for a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (three year research-only degree, M.Sc, or Master of Literature (two year research-only degree), or a one year postgraduate course (e.g. Mphil, LLM, Mast, Diploma, and MBA etc ;)
Application Deadline is October 15th and 2nd December.
Rhodes Scholarships at University of Oxford
The Scholarship is the oldest and probably, the most prestigious scholarship program in the world. The scholarship was founded in 1902 in the name of Cecil Rhodes as per his will. The scholarship is intended to support International students who are studying post graduation at Oxford. A Rhodes scholarship covers all university fees, personal stipend, health insurance, and airfare to and from the student’s home country. Every year about 83 scholarships will be awarded.
However, scholars may only undertake the Master of Financial Economics or Master of Business Administration in their second year of scholarship.
The scholarship covers the University application fees, all College and University fees, a personal stipend for living expenses, private health insurance, and economy class airfare to and from Oxford at the commencement and conclusion of the scholarship. From a minimum of 18 to a maximum of 28, the age limit varies from one constituency to another. Academic standing must be sufficiently high to ensure admission to the University of Oxford. Deadline for the application will be around July-October of the preceding year.
Westminster International Scholarships
Westminster International Scholarships are fully funded awards which will be given to meritorious scholars who are pursuing a full-time Masters degree at the University. The scholarship covers full tuition fee, accommodation, living expenses, and travelling allowances to and from London.
Prospective students should hold a First Class Honours degree and should demonstrate their financial need. Also they should hold an offer letter on the course which they want to study. The application deadline is 17 October 2014.
