According to the reports of the surveys conducted recently, two Singapore universities graded top among the best universities in Asia.

Singapore company registration consultancy AsiaBiz Services highlights the remarkable quality of Singapore’s tertiary institutions, as well as the city-state’s strong education ethos in general.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) was nominated as the second best university in Asia, next to Japan’s University of Tokyo. Similarly, the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) also has scrambled up the charts and secured 11th place among top 100.

The survey consists 5 major categories such as International outlook, Knowledge Transfer, research, and teaching.

HIGH EMPLOYABILITY

Coincidentally, a study titled Graduate Employment Survey (GES) released by the Ministry of Education (MOE) revealed that upon graduation, students from major Universities are enjoying high employability. Out of 9,668 fresh graduates, a total of 91% Singapore Management University (SMU), NTU, and NUS were employed within half a year upon graduation.

The study further revealed that 85.6% of these graduates secured full-time and permanent employment with high packages from initial stages averaging S$3,260 per month.

EDUCATED WORKFORCE

Head of Taxation at AsiaBiz Services, Mr. James Nuben wants to comment further. He said, “Singapore has always been recognized globally for the quality of its academic programmes. The Asia University Rankings affirmed this fact. Evidently, Singapore is fertile ground for the pursuit of higher learning.”

“Needless to say, quality graduates come from quality education. Now it is particularly important to reduce our International worker intake and to develop our homegrown professionals, managers, and executives (PMEs). This is a two way beneficial for students that they have better access to high value jobs on one hand, and make significant contributions to the economy on the other,” he added.

“In the long run, we hope that NTU and NUS stood as a source of inspiration for many others to explore opportunities for further growth. A well balanced and improved curriculum will not only promote Singapore as a centre for education in the East, but it will also increase the Republic’s pull factor as a major talent hub in the region,” he said in conclusion.
